TOPIC: TIDY TAIL

Re: TIDY TAIL 11 months 1 week ago #11

Thanks Bob....normally I would have changed up 1500 or so miles back...but when I bought both tires back then, the Fort Collins Motorsports (boo hiss) Yamaha Dealer would only install the front tire.

They'd had enough of changing my 240 and so the service manager instructed the counter help to inform me that they would have to charge an additional $399.99 to install the tire I'd purchased from them ($235.00for the tire alone)......normally the install is $39.99
:ohno:

I had to ask for clarification (yes $235.00 PLUS $399.99) and the counter guy wouldn't look me in the eye...he knew the BS from his boss was ridiculous.......

I had to laugh and then give them thier tire back......not sure how they'd sell it if they won't install it.

cie la guierre, cie la vie

I'll most likely head down (past FMS) to Denver or Loveland to get a new tire installed

:scary: DAMN I would ask for clarification aswell!!!!!!!!! Yes the 240 is a little harder to change but not $360 harder, geez have they even ever changed out a 240 on a VMAX before? I change mine myself with a set of tire spoons, masking tape and some BFI(Brute Force and Ignorance). It only takes me an hour and half or so from start to finsh and yes that includes taking the wheel off the bike and putting it back on ready to ride. 4 tire changes later and not a mark on the rim yet!
