TOPIC: Brocks 4-1 installation questions
Brocks 4-1 installation questions 10 months 6 days ago #1
|
I finally have my Brocks 4 into 1 exhaust system and am ready to install it.I have a few questions before I get started.
1) Should I us the supplied RTV on all the slip joints? 2) On the rear down tubes, from the motor, the directions say to us the existing "Ring Stopper" this is the little piece that is clamped onto the donut shaped gasket with a clap. It slides up onto the down tube. Do you us RTV on this too? It seems to just slip up onto the down tube without any clam? Another tricks or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bob |

Bob could not get ahold of Kevin , Do not lube it up till you have every thing pretty much fitted as far as it being a sealant it burns off pretty quick , I feel it's more of a lube to install , yes you do use the little hinged clamps on the down tubes just sealant on the tubes though it will help slide them up/in , Install the rear first and keep everything real loose and you must put the collector tubes together before you install you cant fit it all together under the bike I think you have to slip the fronts in at the same time
hopefully Kev will chime in he has all this fresh from last night this is part of what he told me this morning. |

Make sure you have all three rear pipe pieces collar gasket, hinge clamps, and Ring stopper. RTV I didn't use there. Assemble everything first The "Y" pipe can be a pain make sure you get the right angle, do it in the daytime if possible. If you don't have all three pieces for the rear down pipe wait till you get them. RTV everything else that has springs attached.

Thanks for the info, I think I got it now. Should be OK. I see exactly what your talking about regarding the back half of the system. As long as the angles are right it should slip right on.
Thanks again Bob |

When you install the completed "X-pipe section" to the rear stock exhaust downtubes and all the springs are attached, I would make sure there is space between each pipe.
I needed to move things around a bit to get space between sections in this area Just my two cents on this............. |
