Ted i am serious about the welding that will work on one side and the ends around the corner alittle
once you get it remounted you and prob lossen up the front and wiggle em in a little and do a matched tight up and you will re seal put a couple heavy rubber washers between the metal and the frame bracket |

Qtip, I feel ya brother, I've had two Gen 1's in the past. The first one I had Dale Walkers 4-2 on it and it went on like butter and performed "FLAWLESSLY". The last Gen 1 I had, I installed the UFO Exhaust and had to fight with it for hours to get it installed (couldn't get the right rear cylinder to stop leaking). Ditch that piece of crap and get you a quality system...Dales, Brocks, what ever...

That sucks man. I was thinking about new exhausts for my 09(ufo being one of the suppliers I was considering). I may reconsider. I wish you a good resolution.

Ted, I've a dumb question here (if you're not gonna weld it).....but do you think UFO used that same section (where Y mounts to frame hanger) on their SLIP-ON ThunderMAX? can't tell from your pics.
If so, I have a used set of UFO slip-ons that you can have......sitting up in the attic graveyard ---Darel |

Thx a lot guys, but i know i can have it welded up for a quick fix..I knew i had to fix the wrap on the back left header that's coming unwrapped. And a job that is a pain in the A$$ because of the poor design on UFO's part. Now, i'm looking @ a 6+ hour job to complete..1st I'll take to an exhaust shop have them fix it or come up with something that's NOT hard mounted to the bike..Like Capt. said, rubber it up to the mount bracket.
Rudy, i may take you up on the offer tho..Thx a mill!! I'll let you know if i need it..I shouldn't tho.. Dale Walker, exhaust sure would look and feel a whole lot better to me tho.. Now, to see if i can sale my wife.. |
