TOPIC: Exactrep backrest & rack

Exactrep backrest & rack 9 months 2 weeks ago #1

I installed the Exactrep backrest & rack, for when I double the wifey.
She disliked the short Yamaha backrest, so that's why I bought the Exactrep.
Also, after seeing a Yamaha aluminum rack mount break into, the Yamaha was just loosing out for both purposes. I don't leave the backrest on permanently, but, it is very sturdy (steel construction).
The black powdercoat goes well with the bike (I think they also have chrome).
Anyway, I'm happy with the purchase, and have never been disappointed with anything I've bought for my Gen-1 or Gen-2 from Exactrep.

Tnvmax,
Did you have to make a extra hole to mount it on the max.

Nope, just remove the fender trim plates.

Re: Exactrep backrest & rack 9 months 2 weeks ago #8

The backrest is seperate from the rack.
I was wrong about the other rack being chrome, it appears to be coated silver.
(I guess it would be a better match for the aluminum scoops, etc.).
Due to $ exchange rate changes, it's currently $306.67 usd for both backrest & rack.
Here is a link to the Exactrep catalog page it's on: Exactrep Touring Accessories Page

Looks good Rusty with that and the Venture at least their are some options now and more cost efficient looks like a good platform for my
Aux tank as well

On and off in minutes is a nice feature , what is the weight rating ? Think the Yammy one is 10 lbs.

I just went to Exactrep and clicked.. buy now. Thanks Rusty. Got the silver one. I think a backrest bag would work well with this for light luggage. :)
