Yes, i had been searching for a deal on Akuma helmets, but I found out a few things. The helmet is made by a chinese company that made the Veemar line of helmets. That importer quit importing the Veemar and someone else decided to pickup the contract and renamed the line to Akuma, with a few small changes and the after burner lights. Now for the shocking part, while doing research on helmets in general, I visited the DOT site and was shocked to learn that upon random testing of helmets on the market today, the Akuma F-14 failed impact tests. Read it your self at the DOT site from 2007. It's not ALL about looks when you're on the most powerful production bike built

Can't be very difficult to make such an afterburner setup for virtually any helmet out there. Sure would look good!

Yes, HJC a Korean firm, makes a quality product. They do so under many names. Joe Rocket & Icon are just a few. Checkout the RKT-101 as I believe they're the same helmet. You can usualy find a deal on them.
