TOPIC: HID conversion for the New VMax Installed

Re:HID conversion for the New VMax Installed 4 years 6 months ago #21

If I but it as one color and decide to change the color, is it just a bulb change or do I need to do some gutting?

Dyson Vacuum Cleaner
Possibly the guy holding the record with the lowest odometer reading for a delivered '09.

Just the bulb. Electronics stay the same.

Well, I finally have my HID kit in. It is an awesome mod!
I wimped out and had Derby City Customs put mine in. They have it working off the normal dimmer switch too.
Cheers,
Baxter

Light output is a huge improvement over stock bulb. Installation took about an hour. Same kit as fx.

I am considering the HID Upgrade, but have a question:

Does the ECU (one of them) detect the Headlamp and give a Warning Indication (in the event of failure)? - I'm referring to the Stock Lamp.

I know some HID Upgrade kits offer a feature which disables this - The HID Lamp triggers the Faulted Condition Warning.

I thought the particular kit "FX" (and others installed) may already have this feature.

A constant Fault Indication would certainly be annoying.

The 09 VMax does not have a headlight fault indicator. Behaviour of the bike with this kit install will remain stock - just more and brighter light.

Hope this helps!

FX -
Thanks for the prompt reply, and consider another HID upgrade (as-good-as) done!

Yes ..... I'll be doing the Running Light Upgrade also.

All part of making VMax "my own".
