Not really a mod, more a simple swap.
Remember that? From the HID thread: www.starvmax.com/Forum/Installed-VMax-Mo...-VMax-Installed.html Did not like the yellow color and weak intensity of the top running light (on top of the main headlight). Then I found this: Turns out it is the perfect fit and much whiter and brighter replacement for the OEM light bulb. Also lasts 10x time longer - wont need to change that during the live of the Vmax. To get the OEM bulb out you need to remove the tach and the top headlight cover. No need to open any other bolts. With that you get to access the rear of the bulb. Pull the connector while pressing the unlock spring and twist out the bulb mount. Once you take out the bulb mount it should look like this. Simply pull the bulb. Now take the new LED replacement and push it into the mount. It should look like this: Now put the head light assembly back together and start up the engine to see your new found brightness. For comparison here is a pic with the OEM bulb in place: |

I have this same bulb in my Max. I did this install in March.
It lasted less than 2 months and it died on me already. I hate these cheap Hong Kong deals. I might have to find a quality replacement and pay little more than $5. So true, you get what you pay for in today's times. |
