You can use stacked washers with a longer bolt or CRG makes an adapter that expands at the end of the bar if it's a hollow bar. The adapter will require you to drill out the existing bar end mounts. If you take the left side bar end weight, but the CRG against it, followed by a large washer (outside diameter to match the outside of the CRGs mount), followed by a small washer (same diameter as the bars mounting area inside the bars). Now get bolts that are about 12mm or 1/2 inch longer than stock to compensate for the extra length you are all set. |

fxstein, Your CRG setup looks great and I think it will fix my problem that the stock mirrors are not far enough to the outside for me to see directly behind me. I notice CRG lists Split Bar End Mirrors for Lots of different brands of bikes at the same price. Are they all the same? Which ones did you use? THANKS They all seem to be identical but I was not able to reconfirm that. I got the ones that said Yamaha. |

Be prepared for these mirrors to automatically fold back at speed of 150mph+ The air pressure gets too much for the springs to hold them in their extended position. That'll be a great excuse: "Sorry officer, I didn't see you back there... my mirrors fold back at 150...". I'm sure they'll appreciate that! |

I had to do mods to the bar end mirrors. All i needed to do was use the same bolt that was used with the stock bar end.It was a little longer and the threads where not the same.
If there is any one out there that has a 1st gen max you and you are going to change the mirrors on the 09 max.All you need to do is use the 09 mirrors on the 1st gen and you have a way better view. They look a lot better also. |
