TOPIC: VMax DIY Monster Big Air - Part 2

VMax DIY Monster Big Air - Part 2 4 years 2 months ago #1

Ok got some testing time in and came up with a good design for the K&Ns I want to use.

This design is a true venturi-type stack:

The radius is exponentially opening up the further you go away from the throttle plates. In one of the shots you can see the carefully calculated radius progression. It puts the butterflies of the TBs at zero level and extends the venturi as far up as possible and into the K&N filters to be flush with the inside bottom of the filter. No steps, no bumps.

If anyone of our sponsors is interested in the design, let me know. This can save you a couple days on the drawing board.

As I said - there are no plans for me to offer these for sale, with the exception of maybe a few left over test pieces on eBay.

Hope you like it:

What size or model number are the K&N filter that you used if you don't mind FX?

Those are RU 3710s - pretty much the largest K&Ns I could find that will fit in there. And no - they don't make an X-stream version of these. One of them will flow more air than the stock air filter.
