TOPIC: EXUP Eliminator

Oliver,
On the AIS, did you make block off plates or just plug the tubes? Were there any accociated sensors?

Thanks,
Vern

Just plug the hoses for now. Did not have time to take the air-box off this weekend. Eventually I need to loose all of that tubing. It will free up some extra space and drop a little more weight.

Need to see if I am going to make custom plates or just 'cork' them.

The sensor I only unplugged for now, as it does not lead to a hard fault (engine light). In diagnostics you do see that it is missing, but for this one it only takes a resistor.

Oliver, I am constantly amazed at that we are all light years ahead because of this forum. We would be a long time if ever finding all the good info that you and the members provide.

In taking off the left scoop, I find the AIS valve and aqua colored plug that connects to it. I want to re-locate the other plugs and don't see any reason I can't do that with the white ones. What is the blue plug that seems to be some kind of sensor? Does that need to be in that particular location?

Thanks again for all your help.

The blue plug is the ambient air pressure sensor. It can be anywhere on the bike, as long as it is out in the open and not too close to the exhaust (heat and plastic don't go well together).

When you remove the AIS valve, you can also drop that little air chamber, in between it and the stock airbox. SImply connect or plug the bottom two large hoses or trace them back and close up the openings on top of the engine covers.

You can also drop the mounting bracket for the AIS system. About 3/4 lbs in total.

FYI: Anybody who wants to run a turbo on this engine will have to make solid billet covers to close them up, as the reed valves in side will not last long with high exhaust gas pressures.

As always: This modification is for off road racing purposes only!

... order 20 prototypes. They should be here in 3 weeks. I will keep you posted.

I will also have them available for the R6, R1, Roadliner/Stratoliner, Raider.

Oliver, you mentioned that you might want to eliminate the AIS if you go with a full pipe change, how about if you go with the kick the cat or the x-pipe. Do you keep the AIS of ditch it. If you still get rid of it, can you post some good diections and pictues on how to do this?

I also would like to thank you for your continuing work for us, and I will be getting your speed fix and EXUP eliminator when it becomes availiable

For off road racing purposes I would definitely ditch the AIS. 3/4 dead weight and gone is all the popping...

So if its a benefit to remove the AIS after a pipe change, could we get you to tell those of us less mechanically inclined how to do it. Maybe we could get Vmax Guru to shoot a video

Yes I will post up pics when I get a chance to redo it on a stock bike.

It is really easy anyway. Just get rid of that valve shown in the photo above and plug the open hoses.

Fx...did you experience popping on decel even after installing your PC3? I'm wondering if a proper mapping will take care of that issue at all?
