TOPIC: I never did like the rear pegs

I never did like the rear pegs 2 years, 9 months ago #1

So today I grabbed the sawzall and cut them off. I used a fresh fine blade and then hit them with a file and sand paper.

I like the approach, no bullshit, straight to the point.

I fully share your opinion; I never liked the rear pegs either.
In fact, I don't plan to take someone on the back anyway, especially not when I'll have my stiletto seat installed.

So I was looking for a solution for this issue.
I'm happy to see how you have solved this problem.
However, I don't have the right tools to use your approach....
Still puzzled on how to proceed...

I told you man...with a sawzall. It actually looks alot better than in the pic. It's a reallt clean line.
I plan on cutting most everything off on the left side and relocating the shock adjuster. Since I'll have no pipe on that side soon.

I like the side arm pegs. Thats thinking.
Aint no one riding on the back of Max. I had the stilleto seat before I had the bike. So from day 1 I knew I had to hack em off. I just had to strap some balls on and do it.
Next I'm doing the frame mounts that hold the cheesy black plastic covers from the frame to the exhaust bracket. It's getting lighter all the time;)
The older I get the faster I was.

Nice job. You got me thinkin now. Wonder what else that sawzall can do?

I did find out that with a passenger on those rear pegs you had a heck of a nice arm rest with their legs, Just the right height! Maybe that's why they are where they are at, for the rider's comfort.

Better be sure you are going to keep that bike forever, because if you want to/have to sell it, the new owner will most probably want the sawn part back in place......

that's exactely why I'm not going to use this approach.
I don't like the rear pags (as stated earlier in this post) But I'm looking for a solution which is reversable... There might not even be one ...

All the mods I do, I always keep the orignal parts. Did this with my Gen1 as well and gave me extra value when I sold it...
