Just installed my X-Pipe and thought I'd share some observations.
First, I was surprised at how much weight was removed by taking off the black box with the cats and Exup. Very heavy. Glad to have the much lighter X-Pipe in place. The fit was spot on. Everything went together very well. The only difficult parts were getting those darn gaskets lined up on the rear pipes (these are factory pieces that are retained, not anything new with the X-Pipe), and getting to the lower hex heads on the front head pipes. Neither was overwhelmingly difficult, just required a bit of patience. I also couldn't help but start it up without the cans in place. OH MY GOSH!!! What a sound! Too loud for everyone in the neighborhood, otherwise I'd probably run it like that at least part of the time. Now that I have the cans back in place, it still sounds very good, just not so loud that the neighbors will complain. I do get some popping on decel, because I haven't yet plugged the AIS and put in the resistor that Mike (blueta71) so kindly included in the package with the X-Pipe. I will put it on, but had to wrap up early today so I could get the a ball game where my presence was needed. I'm heading out for a ride with some friends Saturday, so will have a better idea of how the power has changed. Looking forward to getting a PC-V and Autotune, as soon as I get around to calling one of our site sponsors and placing the order. Very glad to have the X-Pipe on. Sounds good. Looks good. Less weight. And from the dyno runs posted previously by others, I'll pick up more power too. And especially in the mid-range. Thanks to Mike for a really nice product. And great communications throughout the buying process. Now if he can get caught up on X-Pipe building to make a couple of other mods I'm hoping he will undertake. Mike |

Very nice looking pipes. Hope you buy them and put them on so we can see how they look on the max.
And yes, I love the rowdy drag strip sound. Having the the PC-V and autotune should allow me to make a number of changes and still get pretty good maps specific for my bike and location. Mike. |

Awesome Mike. My x-pipe is on order. I just installed a bunch of things this week and finally back together, just in time for the rain I suppose, hehe. I bet it sounds nice. We need a little more sound around here, I have never lived anywhere with as many Harleys in my life.

I spent more time just figuring out how things were connected than I did actually wrenching. Mike (Blueta) says it only takes him about thirty minutes now. By the time I stopped/started a few times I probably spent 4 hours putting mine on. Yes, that is slow, but I was enjoying the activity. I could probably put new ones on in under an hour now without getting in a big rush. I did have to go pick up a long hex drive (actually used the hex drivers that are attached to a 3/8 socket and a long extension) to get the lower front head pipes loose. And yes, there are way too many Harleys around here. I'm heading out to Moonlight (Rob and Harry know what I'm talking about!) later with a RoadStar, 3 Harleys, an 800 CC Suzuki Boulevard trike, and a GoldWing. I'll be the only one wearing armor, but the Harley guys do have their chaps and do-rags. As easy as it is to change the cans, I may get a couple of Cherry Bombs and put on there!!! That should sound rowdy with the X-Pipe!!! May eve be able to hear the Vmax over the Harleys then!!! Mike |

I can't wait for mine to arrive! I also can't wait to take her apart and get down to business! Any good maps for the x-pipe, evoluzione air filter (w/air box mod), and stock cans yet? I may eventually go with the autotune option, but until then... Who knows, maybe I won't even need the autotune if I can get a good map...never needed it on any of my PC3s...
