Has anyone tried a different windshield on the 09 max other then what Yamaha offers?

Yes & Welcome to the site. I'm currently using a "Fly shield" that was made for the Victory Hammer. It's small, & not much use on the street, but works at the track & doesn't look bad

I got this company to make me a new windshield to replace the standard '09 Yamaha touring shield. It works very well. I think he has a picture of it on his website. If not, you can contact him.

You're welcome. His name is Lief (pronounced LEAF). It uses the standard '09 touring shield brackets and he just made the plastic much larger. It's been tested to 130. I'd send you a picture but it's too much trouble! If you really want one we'll figure it out again.

I too would be very interested en a "larger" version of the touring shield. I like the look but it needs to be taller and wider to deflect more wind! Let's see what one looks like?? Regards, Chuck
