TOPIC: $3 battery takes down $400 radar detector

$3 battery takes down $400 radar detector 2 years, 7 months ago #1

Without the wireless earpiece powered up, the Adaptiv system is not heard above 35 - 40 mph.

Unfortunately, there is no auto-off if the unit is stationary for an hour or so. If you forget to turn off the earpiece receiver on the helmet, it will drain down in about two days.

There is no audible verification that the unit has powered down once you hit the button. You must push and hold, then press one of the volume switches on the handle bar mounted main unit to verify the earpiece is no longer receiveing.

You have to make sure this flashing light is off to save the little battery for your next ride.

Hope this helps,

How do you like that radar detector. I was thinking of buying that one but it's not rated very good. It's the only detector just for motorcycles though.

The Unit is excellent when you can hear it. It also has an additional LED attachment you can afix somewhere in front of your face if you need more warning.

The performance is very sensitive for the open road where I ride. Different tones for the various signals, and plenty of warning to slow down.

I recommend it. Just don't forget about the helmet battery.
