Back on the road…...kind of
Remember the little incident……the embarrassing one where I tore the front off a G35? Parts came early this week so I went to work on the Beast. Thankfully I also had the FX TopSpeed and EXUP Eliminator on hand and this gave me plenty of time to do the install (thanks again FX). I patiently await the delivery for the UFO CatSass but I did the airbox mod with the K&N filter provided by UFO. With the combination of no Exup and an open air box there is a very nice rumble to the bike at 2000rpm. This is with the cat box still attached and the faux mufflers off. Question: That I do not have the CatSass as of yet I am running on the stock map, side cans off, k&n + airbox mod. Should I not ride at all? Should I take it easy? Screw it, its fine; go run the sh@t out of it like I want to? My 2 wheel withdraw symptoms have been slightly subdued by my off road ventures lately, but I just about brought the Vmax to the track last night. Tempted, but for the stock map in it’s current configuration I forlornly opted not to. About that CatSass: I spoke to Jon a couple days ago and he was looking at my pipes so I should have them shortly, pleas no comments about delivery times or expectations regarding UFO, as I said “I patiently await the delivery”, and I will continue to utilize UFO products. Thanks for any insight.

Street lights timed for 35 mph are also timed for 70 mph.
I'm the guy that'll be sneaking out of my bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at my bike. |

Ride it baby!! (did you really expect a different response from the folks on this forum??). Since your incident, I dumped my wife off the back and watched my brother nearly mail it in over a guardrail. Lesser men would be deterred!
Since then, the wife is back in the saddle and my brother is recovering slowly...but on his way. It's all good....take advantage of every moment you have. Just be safe!!! |

Scholars and gentlemen you are. Thanks guyz!
The bags are alright. They fit the lines on the bike and let me carry a drink and rain gear when I’m out. They are out of necessity actually; I need a place to put small parts for work hard-drives and such, and a place to put my phone when needed. They are shallow but fit my purpose. For my Baltimore ride I needed some external storage so I mounted the back rack and strapped on 2 bags. I asked the wife earlier today if I could take the 370Z to the track and got the expected wife answer……NO I said fine, but I still want to send you to Atlanta for some racecourse training…she said that would be fun. Ok then I can bring it to the strip. DrewMax: When you posted the story about dumping the wife, buddy I was praying for YOUR life. When I was reading about your brother I was getting that sunk felling in the gut, just scares the shit out of me. Glad to hear he’s getting better. The best rides, the rides with my Dad and brother, the times spent together are the memories I have reflected on over the years being separated from the family. The parallels hit me hard. I sincerely wish the best for you guys.

I caught some $hit from some of the members here when I said she didn't blame me...she just chalked it up to a stupid move and let it go. Of course, I was easy on her when she backed up the SUV and bashed in my Acura's door. What goes around, comes around, eh?? And BTW...my brother (and sister too) are close to your neck of the woods. Sister has a house on Lake Lanier and brother is in Sugar Hill not from from there. |
