Wow, I think this really needs to be reported to Yamaha Bob. I think a recall on the part itself may even be in order for an $18,000 motorcycle, especially if it is the same exact piece on a soon to be $19,500 bike. Yamaha owes it to us all that waited and waited! I want a refabricated part and I want it installed under warranty by a certified mechanic. Even if changing it out is so simple a caveman could do it Just my 2 cents

Hey! i don`t care if B_M has small body parts,
but do you think it could have been from the drop on the pedal cause the alignment to be off and wear off the inside of the pivot looked at a couple and they look unused compared to this one. |

My hand was cupped in that shot. My fingers aren't short. The ABS had been topping out, which means when you accelerated hardthe pedal would come up and get stuck there sometimes and you'd have no brakes (pedal wouldn't move). I looked under it and saw the hole was elongated and that was before the "lay down". I just finally got around to pulling it apart. If you take that piece off and look at it, you'll agree that's not much metal (cheap metal at that) for the task it performs. |

www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ Hey Bob file a complaint here. This get's results sooner or later . I posted a complaint about my alternator on my maxima. 4 months later NHTSA called me at home asked a few questions ... 2 months later I got a recall notice about the issue from Nissan. I was the first to post a complaint. Anywho thanks for the update.
