I just spotted this thread for the first time.
Thanks B_M for the posting.

I am wondering tho that if this sort of damage could come from excess braking.
To actuate the brakes, this little piece is pushed upward. (down on the peddle / up on the rod) and to cause a stretch like in the picture, wouldn't the brake lever need to be pushed upwards?
And is it possible that this small piece could be the sacrificial break point? I didn't take it apart, so i'm not sure if this is also the pedal return stop also?

Any thoughts?

This piece is part of the ABS and must work both ways, pushing AND pulling. Mine wore out, so I replaced with a heavier part.. All still good since that day.. :)

Lol.. I was wondering whether anybody had checked their back brake linkage. If you use you rear brakes alot, check this part! :)

Ok, I don't have a bin of salvage motorcycle parts to pick through. Can anyone give a source and/or part number for an improved part?

Can be picked up at most any dealer. Known as a rear brake clevis, just bring yours with you to match up..
