TOPIC: Parts to complete a wide wheel kit

Parts to complete a wide wheel kit 1 year, 11 months ago #1

Has anyone spec out the parts that are needed to build a complete Wide Wheel (of course minus the Rim and bearing kit that comes with it)?

I thinking about it because I would like to have the freedom to switch between the two when needed.

Track day
HP shoot out day
Bike Show day (240)
Most everyday riding (200)
etc

If also known what was the cost?

Thanks in Advance

I'm not sure the exact parts my dealer ordered for me, but they were about $50, and they said they were needed so that when I swapped wheels, the bearings didn't have to come out. The other parts attached to the wheel, such as the brake disk, abs parts, etc, are very easy to swap from one wheel to the other. It took me about 15 minutes the other day to swap those parts for the first time as I had to keep checking the manual to make sure I was doing it right. I could do it in about 10 minutes now. Besides, those parts are expensive.

Everything else is fairly easy. The spacers slide right in and out. The pumpkin is fairly easy to remove and replace, although a bit heavy. The ABS sensor and brake caliper is easy as well. I did by a 24mm allen key for the axle (about $30 online), but to get the torque right, I did the trick that Tim Nash came up with (a bolt and two nuts - about $2.50).

Hope this helps! Best of luck, and ride safe!

I have two spare Adjusting Nuts (PN: 3P6-2538E-00-00) but I paid $24.70 (that includes the 8.75% Ca. Sales Tax)...I had ordered two on-line with my dealer and two more at my dealer's...and couldn't cancel two of them...

Removing the final Drive is an easy Task.

Jack the Bike up, undo the four Nuts and pull the entire Unit with the Drive Shaft out of the Swing Arm.

Now, mounting is a different Story.
