Today a newsletter from Yamaha and Motor Magazine (Dutch) published an invitation to every biker to participate in a Dragrace Event at Drachten (Friesland) in the Netherlands.
Date: Thursday, Sept 22nd, 2011.
Location: Dragrace circuit at Drachten.

Yamaha Motors Netherlands provides the Vmax bikes, you bring your sprint skills.
Unfortunately only 1 run per contestant. But afterwards you can also make a test ride on the Vmax 'in the wild'.

Maximum participants: 50!
If Yamaha receives more than 50 applications chance will pick the lucky few!

Vmaxbeast and I already mailed our forms!!!! Let's hope we are part of the lucky ones. Fingers crossed!

But... whether we will be chosen or not, it will be a great event to attend.

I directly filled in the application form and brought it to Yamaha Europe at Schiphol (only 10 minutes away from my home).

I parked the VMax in front of the office and walked to the reception desk. Almost in front of that desk there was a VMax on a platform.
Of course I stopped tot look at it, when one of the ladies said tot me: "Nice bike, isn't it?"

"Certainly", I said with a big smile. "But if You look outside the office, You can see the same model standing there".
I saw that lady thinking "Oops".

I handed over the form and hope, I'll be one of that lucky fifty guests.

I'll go to that event anyway.

Good luck everyone. Babe make sure you are 100% up for it when you run - dont get hurt! You can race your Max any day!

Beste Yamaha-deelnemer,



Hierbij willen wij uw deelname aan Yamaha’s eerste VMAX Quarter Mile Sprint bevestigen. Deze vindt plaats op donderdag 22 september 2011 te Drachten.



Elke deelnemer aan dit evenement mag een exclusieve run met de brute VMAX maken op de dragstrip van Drachten. Inclusief verlichting van de kerstboom (oftewel de officiële startprocedure bij dragrace). Maar dat is nog niet alles. Aansluitend kunt u namelijk ook op de verschillende demo-motoren van Yamaha (YZF-R1 en uiteraard de VMAX) stappen. Onder professionele begeleiding (onder wie ook de Yamaha-coureurs Bob Withag, Raymond Schouten en Kervin Bos) bestaat er de mogelijkheid om een mooie route te rijden. Genoeg te doen dus tijdens dit VMAX event.



Aanvang: 9.45 uur

Start: 10.00 uur

Lunchpauze: 12.30 – 13.30 uur (Een door Yamaha aangeboden lunch)

Einde: 17.00 uur

Locatie: Vliegveld Drachten, De Knobben 100 te Drachten (volg de borden)



Voor elke deelnemer hebben we aan het einde van de dag een leuke verrassing klaarliggen.

Although 50 were the maximum participants, I heard Yamaha did not even receive that many requests
