Re: Anyone up for pre bike week Test & Tune 1 year 2 months ago #21

Capt. U find it best to leave the line @ 5500-6000rpms? & u are you still pron to wheelie even with the starpped front end? Do u climb on the tank @ launch to help keep it down any?

I've never tried that rpm @ launch & mayb I should.. Try & get passed the "BOG".. I'm going to 1/8mile soon I hope to work on my 60ft. Times :catch:

You have to flash to get rid of that bog.. no way around that.. Factory is set to a max throttle blade opening of 48% below 32mph..

 Bob, do u have to know everything there is to know about the BEAST? I figured it has to be the flash to get rid of it but wishful thinking I guess.. :blahblahbla .. I'm sure with the strap & the 200/50 Shinko will help me out alot.. Now I just need to go & practice some 1/8 mile and 60 ft. runs.. Seat time is all I need to get my goal of a 9sec. 1/4 mile @ 230+ lbs :winkwink:

I try not to be abusive & run my 10.40's like this all night.
Let the clutch out down low, no high rpm's

I found that to be the best way for me too Joe, but that was before a flash was available. You can be more aggressive with the flash. Higher launch rpms with less bog = faster times :cheer: Thanks for the vid.. Looks like you smoked a sporty :)

I think we got one run in after you left ..Twice after you left cars oil down the track so i gave up .. I think Teddy ran the best of a 9.27 on his last pass .. Teddy was spinning out of the hole .. I was hooking good out of the hole but spinning in 4th and 5th at the big end of the track ..

Ted without the Flash you will have to leave hot , the strap is a must I had it cinched down pretty tight but just ride out the wheelies
Really no choice or waste the run I try and get forward but launch with my left foot on the peg things happen 2 quick to try an elevate
Your shifter foot for x2 nd gear , I was leaving at a higher RPM to try and whittle down my 60's It worked but much more of a handful
At the line you gotta be all in as soon as that clutch is all the out , I was launching in the 4's and still running 9's but the short game is
What I need to work on being un flashed you will have to work harder to polish that better spending the money with Tim than working the clutch that hard much easier to practice when the Bog is out of the equation , tucking in and getting low and removing air drag items is
Huge with our big 200 lb bodies I forgot to remove my mirrors Thur night and my trap times showed lower speeds + climate I think too.
