TOPIC: VMAX vs 14R?

VMAX vs 14R? 10 months 3 weeks ago #1

Only those who have the new max really know how quick it is from 30-130! Has any run the new 14r yet? I'm talking about a street race, maybe stock or just a piped 14r. I know it will catch the vmax and pass it but at what speed? 120? 130? I've been looking for one in vegas but no luck so far, but have already beaten the 1 liter bikes, busa and regular 14's up to 140. Thanks and ride safe,

vegas tom

With a stock wheelbase 14R and a average rider it would be a race up to about 100 -120 MPH then it would be over. The only thing keeping the VMax in the race is the fact that the 14R could not go wide open because it will wheelie in the lower gears.

The one I saw at the track ran low 10's but at OVER 150MPH!

wow, yes i know the MPH is awesome but I'm thinking in a street race, the max will be 1 or 2 bikes ahead in 1st, and we all know it's very hard to catch and pass the vmax as it does NOT fall off.

I'll let all know if I find one!

Realising that a Vmax runs low 10's - high 9's also, makes it a "who's the better rider" at the time thing. ;)

I know when Lee first got his 14R he could leave whatever for dead on the street, but he's not your typical rider..

I agree 100%, that's why I think the max will be hard to bet! It's easy to ride fast!

It does boil down to the rider yet the new zx14r is a beast compared to the previous generation. It will not wheelie over as easy as you think especially with the traction control. It's very easy to launch and takes all the work out of riding the bike.

This thing on the other hand will put you on your back so fast you won't realize it until you wake up in the hospital.
