TOPIC: Raced a Panigale today.... :)

Raced a Panigale today.... :) 10 months 1 week ago #1

Went on a group ride with a bunch of Ducs this morning...
The leader was on a new panigale... Sexy bike....
Course I had to pick on him.... long straight road, no traffic...
I pulled up on his left, both running about 50 mph, I motioned down the road...
He nodded, We both down shifted, nailed it......
I pulled him immediately about two bike lengths, he SLOOOOOOOOwly was catching up and passed about 135, then pulled me by two bikes up until 155 when we both let of....
He was suprised..... :)

Nice Brett, if the roll on had started at 35mph, you'd have jumped out a bit further & held him off longer ;)

It is Ducati's baddass tho.. If you read the specs & how it's built you'll see they borrowed a lot of ideas from Yamaha..

From a dead stop he never would have cought you at sub 400 lbs that bike would only launch UPWARD and traction control would rob to much power to be competive at that point , Good Show Brett !!
That had to produce a slight bulge in the Britches.

Cool Brett! I was confused at first at the title......I thought maybe you had raced a cookie!

Ductai sure does have some wacky names for their bikes!

Ride it every day lately as my commuter (42 mpg!!)

Tons of fun, good power, actually WAY easier to ride in the twisties than ol'red (sorry girl) as the power delivery is much more linear, thus easier to control in a turn. Handles like a dream, very consistent through the apex, even when disrupted by uneven surfaces.
I really like it, but if I want to be a hooligan the Max is still king!!
Really like having both bikes as they are sooooo different... I rode the max thinking a guy was gunna show up on a Rocket III (he needed a schooling) but he did not show. The riding style this day favored the R1 for sure.... But was fun playing with the Duc, but boy he could leave me in the turns!!! Been a better match on the R1 for sure
