TOPIC: Got to the track with the Vmax

Thanks everyone, i had a blast and should be back to the track with it next weekend for two days of racing. I cracked an intake valve in the Camaro and we've decided to put some Titanium intake and Super Alloy exhaust valves and new springs to keep that from occurring again so the car will be down for the rest of the season. I should have 4 or 5 more shots left with the bike this year to practice but there won't be much of a tire left.

U should be REALLY happy with that outing.. I know I would luv to put down #'s like that & we are ALL in the same boat with improving ev ery run.. It's always something that didn't go right each run Fun tho! 9sec should be right around the corner 4ya.. Good luck & bsafe.. Bike setup @ the track? What's working & not working for ya? Bike setup with 15 psi in the Cobra and front strap with maybe just one inch of tension on it. I might not even needed the strap because i never really wheelied too high and seemed to hook ok. My fat but holds the front down enough that i was trying to get more weight over the rear than leaning over the front |

Your going to quick. Let me write this down
I imagine my weight may play a big part in also keeping the front down with the strap, but of course I dont want to give it to much and get wheel spin. Excellent times. YOur times gives me the confidence to know that my weight will not play a big part into getting into the 9's |

I am running Nash V2 flash for Brocks gen 4 with modified air box, Takai coils and BST wheels. I was trying to launch at around 4500 but was all over the board on this so who knows, probably over 5000. Bob gave me some tips on shift RPM, I had my light set too 9500 1-2 and 10000 for the rest but found myself short shifting out of habit i guess before the light.
Here is the link to the video, at 1.53 in is my best pass but he also has some of my rather embarrassing runs. I guess i will post up anyway lol. |

Cool video....thanks. Can we look forward to these every week? That would be great!
Very clean run on that 10.0....you looked like you were really dialed in good. That 55 Chevy looks like it would be a blast to drive! |

The video dude works in the oil field like I do and were on almost the same shift so there could be some more vids of my runs in the future. I'm a sore dude today though, arms and hands took a beating holding on to the beast.

That video is so awesome! Beautiful country area.......I was expecting Polar bears!
You got it down for the first time out on bike! I remember "back in the day" when my car was down and I took a bike down to the strip and found out they were a blast too. I remember one time I wheelied so bad at the light the bike was coming back over me. I caught it just in time and slammed it back down and just hammered it down the track. I was running ETK class and you got cheap plastic throphies if you won first round. Well I never came home without one on the bike and my last run with the car I went to finals and ran under. Kinda gave it up after that....I was happy with my results. When I brought the Gen 2 home and took the Mrs. for a three block ride she said the bike doesn't belong on the street and I need to get it on the track. I'm going to show the Mrs. your video....what do think she's gonna say? It's been a long long time (when did they start using electronic stuff? I still need to focus on Mods and I don't know if it's still in me but your video for some reason is sparking the interest again.....Thank you for posting that amazing footage..it's going in my favorites! I'm also sending the link to my brother....we used to race together! Ken |
