My 14 was about 525 lbs, and me about 230 lbs. suited when it went a 1.49 60 ft, at 64". And I am not a fast guy. Lee on the Max is about 100 lbs. more....that should, in itself, not make .2 difference in 60 ft. The bike has pretty low gearing, more power, and is longer than the 14...

Let me put it this way...dropping 100 lbs. off of the bike would put it at where I was, weight-wise with the 14. And at that length and weight it should be able to go high 1.3's...over .3 quicker in the 60 foot. There has to be something more to it than the weight.

Yamaha seems to have used a tire for street use. If they had not, we as owners would be a bit P O'd to have to replace a rear tire before the first 1000 miles. It would shred a softer rear tire faster than a first grader using a pencil eraser. All the other rides that was challendged last night can go out the door stock with a softer tire. I believe MAX can not, due to it's low RPM torque curve. A softer rear tire may indeed do wonders for lighter riders. I only state this due to another VMAX forum rider weighing ~270 lb's suited ran a near 10 flat as well. No other stock ride out there can do that. These are my assumptions based off of real quater mile times with vastly different rider weights.

I guess the BUSA guy must have had to pick up his jaw when he saw the VMAX's tail lights going down the track - playing catch up for once must have really been shocking to a lot of the riders........

Anyway, just trying to separate reality and fantasy. BCDD can chime in and clear things up...I'm sure there are some more mods beside the ecu to the bike...after all, the ECU should only affect things in the mph area, right? Most of the ET is determined early in the run...tagging the limiter at the very end will not hurt your ET that much.
