TOPIC: Max Drags again, testing low profile tire

Max Drags again, testing low profile tire 4 years 3 weeks ago #1

Headed out to Sunshine Speedway locally here to try the Low Profile Metzler to see if it improves 60ft times. Track is only 1/8 mile, but will work for checking times before doing anything else to the bike. Stock 09 Vmax w/new rubber rides again. Be back later tonight with pics & hopefully some vids. Here's the track:

Hopefully this tire will get the 60ft. times down some...

Bad Max hope you do well. I think you are on right track. Get that 60 footer down and the shits on. I'm going to the track in a few weeks i really think that would work for me our track is only 1/8 mile. If you don't mind let us know what RPM you launch at. All the best luck becareful. Ok, well I'm happy to report the tire helped some. I think we now have the best 60 ft times ever by a new vmax. Lee did back to back 1.66's and 6.50's in the 1/8 mile. Will take some time to get pics & vids posted but i'm working on it. Here's slips, far right are my 2 (not great) but I'm learning. Reaction time better on 1st run but time was slower. Pics & videos coming :cheer:

My launches were a fiasco. We set the bike up for Lee running 20lbs of air. Everytime I rode, it was a wheelie machine but we both left at 3500 and then pinned it. Lee & Tommy's 14's. Lee brought his strip bike (2006 Red ZX14)

But this red head was sure showing off on her Nitrous powered ZX4 running 5.40's all night.

Honestly I must say the Vmax's size is tuff to get decent 60ft. times, but getting rid of fly by wire will help.

Thanks Bad-Max for the info. How tall is Lee hell he's flat footed and still room to spare i'm 5' 6" and i'm a little nervous about not having more of my foot on the ground at launch time. Maybe Jon @ UFO could help a short guy out before race day with a new lowering link he might have laying around?Race Safe and flat footed if you can! WFO

You gotta realise we're running a low profile rear tire w/20lbs of air, so you'd be flat footed too. Lee's about 5'10" 160lbs in gear.

Max got called a "Drag Cadillac" tonight. I like that, it kinda fits  Max does kinda look out of place here.

The Vmax did pretty well tho and won some & lost some. There were a lot of fast bikes there ;)
