TOPIC: Drag Fest Day Coverage!

Re:Drag Fest Day Coverage! 10 months, 2 weeks ago #51

It sounds like you guys had a blast. Still some good times, even though the weather was a bit warm. I bet with a seasoned ,light wieght drag racer and the right conditions a new record is well within reach. Keep trying. You'll nail it. Meantime mod the piss out of it. I want you to set a new record.

Glad to hear Paul made it to the drag fest too.
The older I get the faster I was.

Have to agree with Warp12 and Steddy on that 1.33 60's also .. Seeing that AMA Prostar bikes running 7.80s @ 190 Mph with a hole lot less weigh and 350 HP on tap only run 1.35 60's .. I have had the clocks toss up some funny numbers once in a while also ..One time i had a 1.19 60 footer , that was a mile from what it does 60 foot ..If you backed it up with two or three runs i'd be happy to eat crow ..

Yeah I have to agree on the 60fter. Checked all slips and all other where in the low 1.50s at best. Must have been a fluke.

Any way, it was a great day. Too bad the temps drifted into the mid 80s and our local 120 lbs jockey called in sick... - got bitten by a dog.

We will have him back next time. Temps will start going down significantely over the next few weeks and the Sac dragstrip has weekly test & tunes all 'winter'

Cool FX , i can't wait to see your Videos and pictures of the Vmax day .

Fx have you run across anyone that might be making a 17 inch rear rim for the Vmax ? If we could get a 17 inch rim we could use 190 50 Usoft Shinko DOT tires .. It would also lower our Gear ratio and make for better 60 foot times ..Maybe Shinko might make a Usoft in an 18 ? I know they allready make a 18 stealth that is them same tire but harder compound ..

Thanks for the pics FX, those pipes are showing some heat! Looks like you rung the beast out pretty good! As temps come down, I'm sure we'll see improved E/T's

Next time (since you have the 210 Metzler & an extra rim), why don't you try that street tire with 20lbs of air. I bet your results will be very close, maybe even better
