TOPIC: Back to the track for my 3rd time.

Back to the track for my 3rd time. 1 year, 10 months ago #1

I'm going to race today and try to get my times down to the 9's today. I don't know if there is much difference in my bike running the 1/4 mile after my Top Speed Governor Eliminator chip went out last night but I took it out and now will run it with the governor back on.

I'm hoping it doesn't effect much since the mph will be under the Stock 147mph limit.

I'll post later this afternoon when I get back from the drag strip.

I may need to find me a Race ECU...but seriously hate to spend a lot bucks for one.

Rick:

Were you drooling on the air cover again and shorting out the electronics?

I always get a "little" excited over girls..... just can't help it.

I have my exercize routine I do everyday, but nothing is better for my heart than a nice looking set of lungs.

LOL!

Now back to your regularly scheduled program...

Hope you hit ur 9's!!. I thought the bike would lift the limiter it's self when from a dead start and run through the gears.. Tell us if it works! I don't think I have ever got it to do it, but I never could get over 129MPH in the 1/4 mile.. I'm going on the the 19th and guess I will test it then.. Also, with a 200/50 tire I got up to 147 and my phone GPS said I only got up to 137MPH that's 10MPH off the speedo..not good

But good luck!! I hope to get in the 9's before you do!!

Good luck Rick......................

Sounds like fun and looking forward to your report.
Btw, do they require full leathers and a kill switch (I think it's called a tethered switch) to race there?

No problem at all, heck even guys on 9 second bikes are riding in jeans. It's test and tune day so no one really is that particular.

Well I just got back.....I didn't do any good today. The best I got was 10.49 which is a hair slower than last time. I guess there will be good days and good days were I didn't do as well as I wanted.

I did learn a great thing today, I don't have to use my clutch to stage the lights and just use my feet to paddle the bike to the tree. My clutch hand was getting a little tired trying to control the bike to trip the lights instead of doing it the easy way by pushing the bike forward while holding the clutch lever in.....big duhhh moment there.

Anyway, there's always next Sunday1

That's the spirit! Don't give up. Practice makes perfect, after all.

And the delimiter is temporarily decommissioned when you use the stopwatch function on the display (it what they told me...). But if you'll never reach the standard max speed over 1/4 mile, what's the use in using that?

So, we need to go in to the stop watch function to lift the limiter? My i ask who said this..It does make sence..This way u will not run out of rpm in 4th and 5th..

Fx, have you tryed this on the dyno? Go through all the gears to see if lifts the limiter in stopwatch mode? Would love to know more about this..May go and try it tonight..
