The rain was okay with me, but this was the first long trip for one of my boys, and he was riding my XR650R with DOT dirt tires. It has a wind screen and hand guards, so that helped keep some of the rain and wind off his body and hands, but that bike is a bit twitchy at hwy speeds in the wet. Plus, because we were going slower than planned, we hit a busy time for traffic in Louisville, KY, so he didn't enjoy that at all. And the other son had a VStar that he just bought the day before we left, so not much time on it vefore we left.

All the bikes did excellent with zero issues. I did get caught on the Cherahala Skyway running low on gas and coasted most of the last 25 miles into a Shell station at Asheville, NC. Mountain roads, wet, rain, foggy/cloudy, a bit colder than we expected, and everyone nervous about my gas issue. I still had .3 gal left when we filled up. Then on to Cherokee for the night, arriving just after dark.

We covered a couple thousand miles, and never rushed or rode fast. Just a lot of time in the saddle. I would have liked to have stayed out another couple of weeks!!!!

I got my bike inspected today. Did some tight cornering holeshots to really rip in my new tires. ..
Also much better with the shinkos once I let some Pressure out.
Got my T-rex frame sliders.(they might get modified)
