Those who listened to "Direct cut" Vinyl or "Half-mastered speed" can make the connection, and the debate between vinyl and cd,imho,is over:the capability of digital processing is outstanding.

We actually have a fistfull of good radio stations.
Thats what i prefer. Other than that, my new playlist is from the two threads on here. Song of the day thread and music while riding your max thread has some great stuff. Some ive never heard and like. Oh and all stuff George posts too with vmax's. Mmhhmmm. Mike Diamartino |

I much prefer the vinyl when listening to the jukebox in the basement. But carrying it around while riding can be a beeotch, so I bought an mp3 player to blast into the helmet speakers. Streaming radio at the desk when at work.

I grew up a hippie child so naturally I prefer vinyl. Digital, of course, iz much more convenient. Use my Ipod every single day, BUTT,
I did distinctly notice when they were converting analog to digital the difference. For example, pull out an old ZZ top vinyl and listen. Then listen to the same digital CD---the digital sounds like they're in a cave(echo). Perhaps it(digital) just brings out the imperfections. Yet, i'm not going to bring my record player to the gym now am I? My mother just gave me her record player and all the albums I grew up w them hippying to(over 200). Cant wait to get set up at home. (i have the original Skynyrd 'Street Survivors' w the fire((before the widowed wifes' made them take it out)) now. |
