Yesterday we got back from Italy: 5027 kms in total. Last day start 6:30 arrive home 18:30, after more than 800 kms from Austria. Despite bad weather prodictions we only rode 130 kms in the rain. Putting on rain gear 4x (and taking it off again).

We had a wonderful time, rode the most beautiful passes in the Dolomites. Had some great adventures (I even 'downed' a Speed Triple, haha! But it gave me a scare). Got a run in with a policeman

Got stuck on a lake . But it was one of the best tours to Italy of the past few years.

We used the GoPro Hero2. Got about 100 Gb of footage. Will post by pass/trip in the coming weeks, so you get an idea of what it's like to ride there. The number of curves per km is fenomenal. Needless to say the sides of my tires got more used than the middle .

We met our Vmaxfriends from Holland, Richard & Harrie (they stayed in Austria) & rode the Jauffenpass & the Timmelsjoch pass (this is at the top of the Timmelsjoch).

Trip to the Valley of Mis (Mistal). You have to ride through some very tricky tunnels.
The Lake of Mis however, is beautiful.

Passo Pordoi (Pordoi pass) viewed towards Canazei.


The other tunnel in the Valley of Mis (very small and dark). You ride alongside a very fast running brook with waterfalls.



Rosengarten up close. Huge pillars of rock rise up from the green meadows & fir forests.



The road you see in front of the rock pillars is set on a very narrow ledge. So 2 ravines on both sides.

The castle you see is our Hotel. It's huge, but it's looks rather small in comparison with the immense height of the mountains. It's located between the Rosengarten & the Latemar mountains.

We met a lot of animals. This goat lives on the Sella pass. We have footage of flocks of sheep on the road & cows, etc. Honking won't help. These animals are used to those idiot tourists
