Too annoying to read (or try to) from the illiterates that are talking about wheels made in 2003? Here's the real info, and it's been narrowed down to a few batches of BST sportbike wheels.
dragbikelive.com/news/15983/hot-off-the-...nbrocks-performance/ Product Advisory – BST Carbon Fiber Rear Wheels in Extreme Use Applications Attention Brock’s Performance customers that use BST carbon fiber wheels in extreme use applications as defined by, but not limited to: Modified motorcycles in excess of 450 hp, Drag Racing, Super Moto, Stunt riding or any other extreme use. Brock’s Performance has received a small number of reports that older BST wheels that have been subjected to multiple, repeated extreme use, may fail. We take these reports seriously and have worked diligently with the manufacturer to create an Extreme Use Policy as well as a BST Carbon Fiber Rear Wheel Inspection Document. In the interest of rider safety, BST does not recommend the following wheels for extreme use and have identified that the following wheels are at the most risk of failure due to extreme use 6” Rear - Model# 8006 - Serial Number 2722 and lower - Built Prior to 11/25/2011 6.25” Rear - Model# 8014 - Serial Number 129 and lower - Built Prior to 01/11/2012 6.625” Rear - Model# 8013 - Serial Number 172 and lower - Built Prior to 11/22/2011 |

Bob , Before you take what has been posted on Brocks site as 100% fact read the F-ing post Wheels have been breaking that are not in the numbers as posted by Brock and Blackstone. These wheels were sold to Dragracers and now they advise not to use them for that

You need to READ what I said. Being illiterate and posting like you know something annoys me. Has nothing to do with life or where you are. I did read the drivel about wheels built in 2003 and someone suiing for a broken frame? Regardless it has little to do with the wheels that were just recently developed for the Vmax. You aren't the first to post about this. There's already another post about the BST wheel problem here, and again it was noted that hp ABOVE 450 is when they advised against using the BST Carbon Fibre wheels. And since you like to tell me what I need to do in life, YOU shouldn't smoke DOPE! Why do you think they call it dope?

Foreclosure? My house is MINE, 100%
Just like the BST wheels.. Blackstone has had it's share of growing pains. It happens when you "redesign the wheel" literally.. How could they know how extreme bike builders would get, or how much horsepower would be applied to their wheels? They are doing their very best to correct the situation, and warn those that have wheels that may fail in extreme useage. Maybe you don't remember the delay on the Vmax BST wheels, but there was a redesign involved during the wait. BST isn't going anywhere and are still the premier builders of the carbon fibre wheels. The people that bought their wheels here are satisfied with the product, and it's doubtful any will exceed the hp rating they were designed for. |
