Ok, they are calling it Project 0803 but some have coined it either Vyper or Mega Monster.
Has ABS, Switchable maps, traction control, 150bhp 11degree 1200 twin, special Pirelli triangular 240 sticky rear section, single sided swingarm, radiators on side of bike, Top fully adjustable Ohlins suspension on the S model, and two thirds the weight of the VMax. Plus other stuff. Yes Please....

Hey Tom,

Looks really cool !

However, You better wait for the second year model.

Looks like they're using the VMax exhaust cans that had that Problem With The Titanium Rusting !

They should'nt be using 2nd hand parts like that !

About time they try and get into power cruiser market!
Unfortunately for them, Ducati can't seem to think outside the box and still use their L-twin motors.

Its like comparing a turbo charged 2.0 Ltr Rex/Evo to a big 5.6Ltr naturally aspired V8. Call me old school, but I prefer the V8 power.

I wouldn't trade your max for it.
But something tells me that you don't have to

The 1200 11degree engine is set at a V angle not L, but it is a twin. Although it uses quite a clever valve system.

Very apt comparison. I also like V8's but I have to admit that a Rex would out-corner and out-handle it all day long. The same will be the case here.

VMax -Straight line stability through out and out grunt, great frame and a nice long wheelbase for stability.
V
Vyper -all round cornering ability, a host of techno guff to adjust to conditions and about 100kg less weight to even the odds in the straights. Seems like one hell of a performance machine and that is a very big weight difference.

Sure, I'm taking a bit of a punt but time will tell.

That thing looks killer , don't get me wrong I would choose the VMAX over it but definitely a contender in my book for a second bike !

I weigh about 135kg I like the VMAX cause it gives me a great power to weight ratio but the new ducati looks cool and is very light beats tryin to give up beer to lose 100kg

They've been talking about the Vyper for years...just like Yamaha was talking about the Gen-2 V-Max...

I wish they would just get on with it and release it...

Then we could tell them what we think of all their secrecy...

I think because of the Vyper, Ducati has lost a lot of their sales of current models because people of waiting on its release...
