These headers are MIG welded , back purging with argon is only used when TIG welding and hardly anyone thats a good TIG welder hardly ever use's back purging anymore , all the cool guys are using Solar flux B and filler rods from Kobelco and Esab that form a flux on the backside of the weld eliminating the need for back purging.

To clean that up you'll need a round carbide cutter on a 6 in shank with a die grinder. Bumbs etc all matters in keeping the exhaust flow smooth, leave too many things and it adds up. BTW, pipe looks great, I may have missed it, how are you transitioning from the Brock's 2" outlet to the Kerker 2.5 can?
