Hey Q.....what kind of plug IS that?
It looks like you just took out the nice nail......and put an old rusty one in! That's no way to plug a tire!! |

It's all about the chance of rapid air loss and a flat tire that could cause loss of control. Obviously unlike a car where normally a tire going flat wouldn't be catastrophic (although sometimes it is....like in overloaded Ford Explorers) on a bike it's a different story.. I had a sidewall let go on my rear tire and the loss of control was immediate. If it had happened while I was out on the open road, testing the limiter on the Max.....I would not be here typing this. That being said.....a properly plugged tire has a very very slim chance of every losing the plug......and even if it did the air loss would not be as sudden. IMO |

I love plugs, i picked up a nail in a brand new drag slick on my race car a few years back and at 400.00 a tire was not about to replace it. I threw a plug in it and did my burn out and the plug was part of the tire, never new it was there after that. Got my full life out of that tire going 8.80s @ 155 in the 1/4.
