TOPIC: Vance and Hines exhaust

Re:Vance and Hines exhaust 3 months, 1 week ago #161

Ok I have a feeling this is a stupid question but I have to ask...

Does V & H offer the system in black or would I have to get it powder coated/painted?

A blacked out beast does have some disadvantages.

And I gotta know Skull, where did you get the Autobot badges???

Search transformers emblems on Ebay, you'll come up with all different sizes etc. I was going to remove them this year, then noticed Transformers 3 is coming out this year. "f" it, I'll leave them on....

Yo, B_M, Kodiak is referring to a photo that can't be posted( I think). My guns got me in a little trouble last Saturday at the Bikini Bike Wash. Pic available through email only.

Out in the shed now loading an ackro can and mid pipe map for the v&h.... I'll see how it goes in the am. I installed the PCV last night. It was pretty easy. I didn't do the digital ground yet to see if I notice any difference. Seemed to run the same as without the pcv. stock map of course.

So the word will be "We still need a V&H map" with filter Mod., AIS,

What's the closest thing till' I can get it back to a Dyno expert??

Mike, I got the same question as you. I have the PCV5, AIS Mod, Big Air, and the V&H Exhaust ... what did you go with to get close?

I just installed my pcv the other night and loaded the Ackro can and mid pipe with stock air. There wasn't much to choose from on the Powercommander site. I don't see anything close on here either. I just wrote to V&H requesting a map. we'll see where that gets me.

I didn't get to go far with it, due to have'n to go to work. Seems a littel better than stock map. more power. I thought the front end lifted in third!! But then again, I only drove it about a mile.( A hard Mile)

I'm gonna look for an available dyno guy nearby. Spent all my dough on the exhaust and pcv. and Laconia and Summer nationals ... Time for Kids to get some Vacation time!!!

Guess who just sent me a map... V&H... Yup!! Who'ld of thought to ask them??Duh.
It did say in the instructions to go online for Map...(but you can't find it).. they do recommend to get it tuned...

I wish I had checked my email earlier...WTF...Gotz to get up early..

It won't take but a second!!

Out to the shed!!

Try it on the way to work in the am..

Any one want it, pm me or ask them. I did get a quick response. I meant no response, just a map. Thats all I wanted!!

Re:Vance and Hines exhaust 1 month, 3 weeks ago #167

This map from V& H seems like a keeper for me!!

I got to go for a little test drive after work.

No more pitter patter on decel. ( I used to get a light pop'n, very light with no map and even the akro map. No back fire or anything, just a pitter pat)

Also, I used to have a slight"dead spot" at around 4000rpm. Now gone.

I haven't really been able to crack it wide open through the gears due to rush hour stuff, but it seemed pretty crisp.

Maybe I'll post a screen shot of map if that means anything??

I would still like to get it on a dyno to tune, but this seems to be great till' then.

Hey Skullmax,

Could I get that map from you? I email requested one from V&H about 4 weeks ago and never heard anything. Did you also do the AIS mod?

Thanks!

PM me your email and I'll fwd it over.

And yes I did the Ais mod, airbox mod with evolutions filter.

I did not however do the digtal ground on the PCV. I wanted to see if it acted up. seems fine though. I might do it if recomender by others of course.

See ya, Mike D

Mike, I would do the digital ground to be on the solid reading side. It's easy! Just take the two wires from the pcv ground and use the B/w Wire and run it to the brown/black wire on the ECU and your done..
