TOPIC: Retro Fit HID KIt install

Thanks, Gemini. I called Bob yesterday for some general install advice, but I think he and I have different harnesses. I think his was for a car where mine seems to be specifically for a bike. He called this morning to ask how it all went... He said he wasn't sure what could cause it. I was gonna call Matt at TRS this AM, but looks as though you beat me to it. I'll shoot you a PM in a few with my number. Hopefully we can get this sorted out soon.

Update... Just got off the phone with Matt at TRS. On the H4 wiring harness, there is a relay. He had me pull that off and count the pins. For the Bixenon setup, you should have a five pin relay. I had a four pin. The middle pin, missing on mine, is to continue powering the bulb when the "high beam" is on. He said he's gonna test it out on the setup he has to make sure that's the issue, then he's gonna send out the new relay.
A+ customer support from those guys! And thanks to Capt Bob and Gemini too for the help! |

So, here it is... Not perfect by ANY means, but it's a start. I'm probably gonna get back in there and tinker around a bit at some point. I think there might be a fingerprint I missed on the re-install. Thanks again for all your help, guys!
Here's the stuff from the box I got from TRS... Here's the finished product. I'll be riding a bit tonight to get the leveling checked out. |

Joey, when he points you in the right direction let me know how to proceed so I can get mine sorted as well. When I found that mine was doing that I didn't bother with it since the normal non-highbeam illuminates so well.
I actually kinda doubt the high beam is going to make a whole lotto difference but I'd still like to have it. As I told Johnny, I hate taking that headlight off. |

Will do, Darryl. I don't blame you, it's a pain in the you know where messing with that thing. I should have the new, five pin relay early next week and I'll let you know.

Big D you should not have to take the headlight of to install the harness just the tank cover , Has you high beam never worked ?
'BTW the high beam is very effective by eliminating the cutoff it's like a big oval it takes care of the loss on a turn you get from the bank of the cutoff line you will be glad you did it if you do any night riding. |
