I'm not sure how to start this but here goes.
A while back I made the mistake of calling out another member on his negative only comments to every topic he posted on. I tried to do it light heartedly by joking about it. Little South Park humor.

I then got a threatening PM from him. Soon after my Karma dropped by 1 every 6 hours. That went on for a few days.
Then it went to just 1 every few days. I thought he had got over it but no. Just today my Karma went up 1. And what do you know within an hour or so ...Bam, he smited me again.
I guess the member does not realize he can be tracked when logged on here. Now that probably wont stop him from logging in as someone new and driving my Karma into the ground.
I try to keep my posts positive and be a productive member here. His was the only one that I've called out but I really think he deserved it.
I find it sad that 1 member can play around like this.
I know it's only a number on a website, however it is a rating that others on this forum look at.


Anyone got any suggestions?
Or should I just shut the H%&* up.

While I never got a threatening email, i have noticed that my karma blipped down just yesterday. All i did was speak my mind, and make a joke just as you did.

Honestly, i find the system absurd, its a perfect way for classic internet cowards to flex thier muscles, but whatever. I gave you a karma point for having the balls to bring it up, and to anyone who gets thier feelings hurt by what ive said, you can get in line to blow me. (im just kidding, dont be so sensitive, its the damn internet)

I think the karma has become of a negative aspect of this site. It has been used in a divisive and abusive manner toward members. It actually separate members instead of solidifying people with common interest.

I say get rid of it.

I wouldn't worry about it Cruise. Myself and I'm sure most everyone here that has been around for a bit knows eachother for their posts and not their karma. I myself really don't even pay attention to it. I guess if someone feels your important enough to pay that much attention to then hey..... just smile and wave. Whatever, right?
