I have been on forums for a number of years and have come to the conclution that some people POST WHORE to raise there self proclaimed status. (Ive done it before myself) I did several searchs and one had the same member for an entire page. Multiple threads same subject. I understand if they themselves want to see there post numbers but why do the rest of us need to see it? I could see keeping the status name after so many posts as a forum identity status but the numbers tend to lead to whoring. The date joined is kind of historic I guess. Just my thoughts to make the site better than the rest.

Considering that this very post is my 50th and will double my chances of winning the highly sought after Vmax banner... I declare myself a post whore!

Seriously, I found that the contest just encouraged me to respond to stuff I had an opinion on and ask questions when I had them. I did try and limit the "thanks for posting" posts to ones that I really benefitted from. Now that I have hit the magic 50... I'll still post like I have been - just stuff I feel needs to be asked, etc. No one likes to see "Posturbation".

I did have one person that mocked me for lacking a large number of posts, but that person pretty much just showed me what an idiot they were... Judge me by the lack of chicken strips and rubber hanging off of the edges of my front tire.

I like it the way it is, and think it's already a better site than the rest. If there were aspects of the site I didn't like, I'd just ignore them and enjoy the rest.

There will always be post whore's, its the nature of the competitive beast that in one form or another lives in many of us. I've seen posts that I think are a bit much (but maybe just me), even one liner posts that say nothing more than; ' nnnnnnn PM me ' With that said, I would propose we bring Karma back so that we can respond to posts like that with due process.
