Thanks for the info Doc. I guess they do plan a recall (which will be no small undertaking). I'm sure their plan will be to replace the pump assembly with a newer updated pump that doesn't have the issue.. I figure they have 3000 bikes in the US alone. It will take some time & some doing to notify all owners and perform the service.. At least Yamaha is doing this on their own, instead of wating for catastrophic failures.. I was skeptical because it was a first time post here. I do apologise to Dale the poster of this info.

I wonder how many failures have occured? My guess is not many at all. It could be that there was one failure and Yami is being conservative. My question - Should I still ride it?

MAN, this blows. Have no local dealers, that have,"BRAINS". Now, need to either drive 7 hrs, or find a dealer that has great SERVICE. WHO"S happy with their dealer?

Yamaha can't be that concerned about failures. They just hosted a Vmax Drag event in Holland 2 days ago..
