the red just looks out of place

As far as I'm concerned, you can have bikes in any color you want, as long as its black.

First Black, then Red, what's next? Sooner or later they are going to use Blue, Silver, and YELLOW!

So let's start a poll...

Next I think 2011 will be Silver w/ pinstripes.

I love it that the 2010 came out in red. It just means that I have another year with the best lookin' year out there. This bike was meant to be black. The only time it shouldn't be is when you make it your own.

Next year...? I say Maroon...copying the original '85 look which is what I had previously.

That comercial needs Bad_maxs 2nd gear smoke bomb really bad.. The front brake burnouts are OLD NEWS..

For some reason in my opinion it doesn't seem to flow well. Just looks like a couple of panel replacements of the 09 (which of course it is). Maybe it's even the shade of red.

I normally don't like black but on the 09 it fits it very well and was a smart decision by them. Especially, the hidden red flakes!

If I decide to convert mine to red, first I'll get all replacement parts and then go further then just the main panels. Will be pretty expensive if I don't like it, but at least I can go back to black afterwards.

2010 V Max is red, I am not very observant but is the 2010 only a 2009 really, I have not been able to see any differences as yet, if so no one is listening to our concerns about the improvements we consider would make a better bike, for example more fuel, immobilisers on U.S. bikes, flash to pass switch on left handle bar switch, seat height and I am sure there is others, we are part of a world wide forum with some very smart people at the helm all commenting on the things that we find annoying so it comes down to one thing, HOW MUCH ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY FOR SIX CANS OF AEROSOL CANDY APPLE RED PAINT.

I kinda still prefer the old maroon color I had decades ago, but this is better than the default black.

Has anyone seen this red up close; is it a solid or metallic red?

The SKUs and street prices of the '09 SMM pieces are:

For ~$700, I'd like to modernize my old '09 with this brighter color scheme and get another year of life out of the bike before the arrival of the next gen V4s from the other manufacturers.

Does anyone know if the above SMM panels are prefinished? And if so, when will the SKUs be released so I can get this color on order?

So, I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. they changed the paint in 10 correct? is that all? and they increased the MSRP by how much?? and someone would pay this over an 09 because????
