Assuming you're talking about a '09 Max. You don't need to lift the Bike at all.

"Just" undo the rear License Plate Assembly, Seats, rear Fender, unhook the eletrical Connectors on the right Side beneath the Fender, undo the rear Brake Fluid Reservoir and dismount the rear Subframe, pull the Tank out. About an Hour or so later, your done with dismounting

The Fender Rivets dismount by pushing the Center Piece in for about an tenth of an Inch, then pull the whole Rivet out.

Nope, it's not.

On the 1Gen, you can do this with the Bike on Centerstand. Remove Seat, rear Wheel, Caliper, Shocks, final Drive and Swingarm. Then undo the Frame Member on the lower left Side of the Frame and pull the Tank out.

Here's the Procedure described for mounting a bigger Aftermarket Tank, you can discard these Extra Steps. www.schwabenmax.de/English/Einbauanleitungen/einbautank.htm

It can be removed without removing the rear Wheel, Caliper, Shocks, final Drive and Swingarm. Just remove the dogleg on the left side of the frame and slip it out the side.

Sorry, didn't knew that... I allways had to dismount everything to get the big Tank in Place. No Way getting that big Tank into the Frame without dismounting the rear Wheel at least.

Just need to remove the mufflers and shocks. Wheel, final drive and swing arm can stay.

When you mention 'dogleg' what are you referring to? I am trying to remove a tank on a 1992 and before I jump in, wanted to follow your instructions as they seem less obtrusive to the bike.
