I was wondering what is the best quarter mile time stock GEN 1 vmax?

In my old Max Haynes repair manual, which I turned loose of a couple months ago, I believe it stated someone ran a 10.4 when 1st introduced. It gave the rider's name but I can't remember who it was.

I believe pee wee did a 10.26 on a 100% stock max. He did a high nine second run on one that was piped with a kerker and a stage 7 jet kit with spoke wheels. whith those numbers in perspective the gen 2 isnt impressive at all.

Really? Drop a 245lb guy on a Gen 1 and try to run a 10.25 We have quite a few that are already in the 9's on a 2nd generation bike that's decades further advanced in all areas. Times haven't changed that much to where 9's on a street bike isn't still respectable. We now have a lot of govt. restrictions in place that weren't even thought of back then. Factories have to meet stringent policies and guiidelines to get these into the country you know?

The new Vmax is heavy, powerful & refined. It is exactly what it was built to be.. a VMAX
