Would like to know when other bikes fuel light start burning . At 65 miles i have to go to the gasstation and at 125 miles the lamp strarts burning again. He drinks way more than his owner and they call me a fisch . I am doing city miles only but am curious if this is normal. Knowing that i can not do much about it but i would like o hear some other V max experiences about gas use of the bike . Gr Lightworker . |

Yeah, that's about right!!
It'll get better after some miles are put on the motor. Not much. yoiu'll learn how to streatch it. I think the reserve comes on a little earlier on some. Mike D |

One THING gets the Big Heavy Beast up and runnin'...LOTs OF FUEL!!!
As Bad_Max once put it " It flows fuel like a toilet flushes water"!YOUCH! Even if "I was a good boy" and really took it easy on this bike... It would still SUCK on mileage! I average 65-70 miles till the light comes on. If on a road trip though...I automatically go into "Miser" mode but still only get maybe 92 miles. Last summer on a trip I gassed up 31 different times in six days. I'm sure you'll Enjoy the hell outta this bike! Ride Safe! |

It eats a lot more gas next to most other motorcycles.
Goes insanely fast next to other motorcycles. Looks like no other motorcycle. There is a dragstrip in Bradenton we're alot of us Tampa bay guys go. Your not too far from it & should come race your new Vmax down the track after it's broken in. Lot's of fun. |

Like mike said it will loosen up with miles and your fuel will go farther I have a bunch of mods and my light comes on at 80-83 miles prob could do better but......
The Max motor is built to very tight tolerances including Titanium valves thats why the V max is so light lol. I know a guy who makes 1.7 gal Aux tanks. good till 130-140 Mi |

When your Vmax is new, the mileage is aweful. I remember on the maiden ride, not even exceeding 5000 rpm, the reserve light went on at 104 kms. Now it's usually 130-140 kms.
Doing long stretched of highway (like f.i. Autobahn) I even can stretch it to 160-170 kms. So like they said here, the mileage gets better with the number of miles you put on it. And of course, it's all in the right wrist! If you want to leave at every stop light with smoking tires, you get a lot of fun, but there's a price. And not just fuel... |
