Morning!
Tim, the vmaxguru did a video of the procedure to do this. I know, as I did it. However if you are expecting the sound "level" to increase, you have to get rid of the "cat box" under the max. This is where almost all the baffling takes place! Search the archives and you will find alot of info on this subject Helen. Best of luck, VMaxChuck |

Also tried to look for this on site, not sure what it was called.. |

If you gut out the stock muffler the wall thickness of the titanium shell is not thick enough to support the back pressure or harmonic vibration....they will crack at the weakest point!

You gutting them wont give you any further power or air flow. You might change the sound and more than likely just structurally weaken the mufflers |

! Thats the sound of gutted cans. I ended up wrapping the inside with fibreglass to give it more bass. Without any packing the titanium will crack and split. You'll ruin the mufflers if you run them gutted. |

The stock muffler enters in one pipe then y's out into two pipes. From the Y back I increased those pipes to a 1.3" ID - 1.5" OD pipe. I repacked the muffler with stainless steel wool before putting it back together. I have the X pipe so my cat is gone. The sound is amazing, not too loud not to quiet, and has held together good, no cracking. This is not my original idea. I sure I read it on this forum but I can not find that post. It was a couple of years ago. I am presently installing the muffler tips from Python Motorsports. I am having the ID of the muffler tip machined open so they will fit over the small amount of pipe that extend out of the muffler shell. This might work for you. I also love the look of the stock mufflers.
