V-Max dolly 9 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I recently I have moved
to a place that I have a long but narrow car parking space, so I was looking on the net for some kind of solution and found this motorcycle dolly type of thing, now this is all very simple, right? No, it is not because I can't find one in Australia...no one brings them here...I have searched trust me.
So I wanted to make my own, the problem with that is that even though I have the tools and all I just don't have a place and time to make one. My question is how do I get one here from the States? I have been quoted by UPS about $700US, DHL not far behind USPS will not do it. Any advice

Prolly going to have to make that yourself. It's fairly simple to do, a piece of 5" Channel iron will work, just cut it in a long piece and 2 short pieces welded on to make a X shape. I have some small medium duty casters/rollers to use. Should be able to do this for under $100. Lemme know if you need em
8 of these @100lbs ea. some channel & you're good

Harbor Frieght sells them real cheap. www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf? Itemnumber=95896

If you decide to build one, I have a Harbor Freight retail store close to me, and could snap some photos and email them to you.

Thanks for the offer BM, I have looked in to some casters but the problem is that the Max and I would weigh about 800lb to 850lb so I would need some heavy duty ones and I need some place to do it and grinding and such would not go down very well with the neighbors so I need to get one ready made shipped over somehow.

I've never shipped anything to Australia, but I'll try to get you a quote based on the Harbor Freight dolly for you. I'm in NY - would it be cheaper for somone in California to ship it to you?

Thanks Mark,
I would not know if it would be cheaper to ship it from Cal. it makes sense that it would be.
