V-Max dolly 9 Months, 2 Weeks ago
|
|
I recently I have moved to a place that I have a long but narrow car parking space, so I was looking on the net for some kind of solution and found this motorcycle dolly type of thing, now this is all very simple, right? No, it is not because I can't find one in Australia...no one brings them here...I have searched trust me.
So I wanted to make my own, the problem with that is that even though I have the tools and all I just don't have a place and time to make one. My question is how do I get one here from the States? I have been quoted by UPS about $700US, DHL not far behind USPS will not do it. Any advice

Prolly going to have to make that yourself. It's fairly simple to do, a piece of 5" Channel iron will work, just cut it in a long piece and 2 short pieces welded on to make a X shape. I have some small medium duty casters/rollers to use. Should be able to do this for under $100. Lemme know if you need em 8 of these @100lbs ea. some channel & you're good

Thanks for the offer BM, I have looked in to some casters but the problem is that the Max and I would weigh about 800lb to 850lb so I would need some heavy duty ones and I need some place to do it and grinding and such would not go down very well with the neighbors so I need to get one ready made shipped over somehow.

If you decide to build one, I have a Harbor Freight retail store close to me, and could snap some photos and email them to you.

Thanks Mark,
I have called one of the Harbor Freight stores and they told me that they would not ship to Australia...
Thanks,
Marius

I've never shipped anything to Australia, but I'll try to get you a quote based on the Harbor Freight dolly for you. I'm in NY - would it be cheaper for somone in California to ship it to you?

Thanks Mark,
I would not know if it would be cheaper to ship it from Cal. it makes sense that it would be.
