Front Exhaust Shields Removal 7 Months ago  
Are the two front down exhaust pipe heat shields just held on with the two clamps, or are they both welded just below the foot pegs? Went to take mine off today, fought the difficult to access two clamps and still seemed to be attached at the other end under the foot peg locations???

Yes - they are welded on. You would have to cut them off.

If you want to powder coat the exhaust, you can do so by sending the entire header to the powder coater - needs to be ceramic though

Yeah, I have been planning to send my mufflers and heat shields to Jet Hot for their red jet hot coating. But wasnt planning to do the stock portions of pipes. That sucks. Maybe I will just go to Autozone and buy some hot spay paint and paint it on the bike. LOL
