Help! I have Map question and running like crap 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago

installed the X-Pipe and it sounds and runs great, but down loaded the 1st map off the forum for PCV and runs REALLY good. Pulls like a bat out hell! Only thing when I try to stay at a set speed like say 50MPH it jerks and keeps cutting out.. Well at least it seems like it wants to cut out.. So, do I just need to take it to the dyno? Or is something going WRONG? Like very bad things.. Should I check my plugs? Please help!!!

Oh Q, Please tell me you are kidding about down loading the FIRST map off the forum for PCV.

Which map did you download? Sounds like a lean surge, I ran into that too early on in my tuning. I would try a different map.

why? What's wrong with the 1st map? It's the top one for the exup, bigair, xpipe, but I don't have the speed fix from Oliver.. Should get the one off of the PCV website?

I installed a good A/F meter on mine. Dynojet Wideband Commander O2.
Does sound like a lean air fuel ratio. You can run really good at any one throttle position and run like crap at another. I just took my 1st ride of the year and had installed the PC 5 over Christmas. I too downloaded a map off the Evoluzione site, the one for the Akrophobic pipe. My bike seems to like it real well. My A/F is in the 13 s and only leans to 14.5 qhile cruising at 60-65 in 4th or 5th gear. While a dyno will get the job done right, I have great respect for a good bike mounted A/F meter. This way you can monitor in all climates, altitudes, etc. imho

You aren't running the auto tune by any chance?
DId you do the PCV install modifications some of us have written up? The PCV throttle signal is not clean and needs the proper digital ground hookup.
Both the autotune and the PCV ground issue can cause what you are describing - independently of any maps.
If you get any back firing into the throttle bodies (might be harder to hear with the stock airbox) make sure that the throttles are in sync.
Especially with the X-Pipe the throttle sync is important. More so than with the Akro for some reason.

See my response.
This is definitely an Autotune problem. I suggest you turn Autotune off completely and use a map that is the closest to your setup - coming from a dyno if possible.
There have been a few discussions about the autotune and these problems. It will do exactly what your are describing.
Also the PCV throttle sync is important. As the dynojet documentations says, this should really be done on a dyno as you can't get the throttle by wire setup right unless you rev through the rpm band.
Hope this helps!
