Anybody know what number blank is used at Home Depot or Lowe's for spare keys to an 09 Vmax? I went to Home Depot and they tried a #32 blank which did not work. Thanks for any help.

Head to Ace Hardware. 3 bucks a pop. I keep one key in my billfold.

Yeah that's the problem with HD and Lowe's. They have the new key cutting machines that don't let you mix, match, or custom cut a key at all. And most of them aren't smart enought to know how to do it anyway. If your key doesn't fit perfectly into one of their slots, you are S.O.L.
You've got to find a small Mom and Pop type hardware store or a locksmith. Ace hardware is good but I'm kinda partial toward the Do It Best chain of stores since my dad owned one for 40 years. |

Sorry Mark. I meant my other Dad.
He owned a Coast to Coast Hardware store in Davenport, Iowa then we moved to Norton, Kansas then on to Dodge City...the wild, wild west. Then up to a little farm town in Kansas called Belleville. Coast to Coast went bankrupt so True Value took over and F$%ked us over big time so we joined the Do It Best franchise. They were GRRRRREAT! I was in a hardware store since I was old enough to walk I think. Still miss it sometimes. He retired about a year after I left. |
