TOPIC: Virus Warnings!

Virus Warnings! 1 year, 8 months ago #1

Has anyone else been getting virus warnings when logged on to this site? I keep getting anti-virus pop ups from my anti virus software when ever I log on to this site!

What virus software are you running?

There are many out there. Some have problems.

The site is scanned daily and has been clean from the very first day we launched it.

PM me with details.

Thx!

There is an e-mail distribution camouflaged under UPS or USPS or FedEx e-mails delivering a zip file. If you ever opened it, you will have your computer infected with "scare" program. It flashed "Internet Security Warning across your screen, prompting you to download update for XP Internet Security. If you do that you are done. Read: http://cantalktech.com/2010/01/29/xp-internet-security-2010/
Next step will be prompting you to purchase something like "Security Essentials 2010", read more about it here: blogs.technet.com/mmpc/archive/2010/02/2...entials-2010-then-it
This is how they get your money.
This program is very hard to remove, because they change Windows System files. And removal of those files lead to destruction of Windows operating system. Installation of "Security Essentials 2010" will results in another “scare”, prompting you to purchase more “security” updates. You get the picture?

Simplest way to deal with it:
1. Back up your data files on external hard drive.
2. Reformat infected hard drive and reinstall your version of Windows and the rest of your applications.
3. Install good antivirus program. For instance Kaspersky Internet Security.
4. Scan external hard drive for viruses and any other infections before using your back up data.

All of that's not necessary. Simply click "Start", "All Programs", go to "accessories", "system tools", "Restore" and follow the prompts to "Restore" your pc to an earlier date you may select, (before this started happening). Let it run all the way through the restore process and if it completes succesfully your computer will stop giving you false alarms.
