ok so i have taken the safety switch off the kick stand as it got bent all up one day when loading it on a trailer the first week i got it.It has been off all this time with no problems at all.then today for some reason i was going along and it just shut down on me.i pulled over and tried to start it in gear and no go so i tried it in neutral and it started so i went to go and as i let out on the clutch it died. i tried a few more times and same thing. so i waited a few and then it was all better.this happened a few times with in a hour or two. so i pulled over and tried to find where the kick stand safety switch was plugged in but i could not remember. so i just went to the battery and disconnected it for about 60 sec. or so then put it all back together and made it home with no other problems.what do y'all think.

Any and all help would be very helpful

Personally, I think you should take it back to the dealer and have it taken care of the way it should be. (or do it yourself.)

Hey, I've gotta agree w/ReMaxed. That kickstand switch has saved my butt a couple of times. Thought I put it up and didn't go up. Takes one time to hit that stand driving off and your on your side. Then you have a bigger bill than the switch. Mark

Don't know if you're on a guarantee of any type... If so, like said, I'd run it in. Don't know if they could bring up a code. There's some on here who could tell you that. If you want to look into it, there's some reading you can do in chpts 8&9 of the maint man. I cannot make out the numbers on the wiring schematics w/o printing it off.

I dont know about a Gen 2 but on my Triumph the kickstand safety switch kills the engine as soon as you put the bike in gear if the stand is down. Not when you let out the clutch. And my Gen 1 does not have a stand safety switch.
